ILL Clan Performance One Of Over 100 Events to Coincide New York, NY (Aug 8, 2004): New York based 3D animation and computer game studio the ILL Clan Inc. will perform an improvised, 3D animated comedy show at Cinema Classics in New York's East Village. This unusual performance is part of the Imagine Festival of Arts, Issues & Ideas, a coalition of some of the city’s finest artists, authors, producers, presenters, humorists and humanitarians. The festival is designed to inspire, instigate and support civic engagement during the Republican national convention and includes performers such as Margaret Cho, Lewis Black and E.L. Doctorow at numerous venues around the city. The ILL Clan's performance will include one of their signature shows "On the Campaign Trail with Lenny & Larry" about two politically oblivious lumberjacks who hope to get the two cushiest jobs in America: President and Vice President. The 3D animated characters are voiced and controlled by the ILL Clan comedy improvisers, live in front of the audience, and projected onto a movie screen. The combination of close to 10 years experience performing improv comedy in New York city, and the latest computer game technology allows the ILL Clan to create a unique experience where cartoon characters can interact with real people, in real-time. The ILL Clan pioneered the process (known as Machinima) using game technology to perform for a live audience with their first show, Common Sense Cooking at the 2003 Florida Film Festival. More recently the group performed as part of the New York Video festival at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater. The group has modified the technology behind the popular series of "Quake" games by Id Software, who recently released "Doom III." By replacing the graphics with their own cartoon-like 3D graphics, and reprogramming the game technology to allow for character lip-synching and a virtual camera, the ILL Clan has transformed a fast paced game with marines and rocket launchers into a live, animated comedy show with talking lumberjacks. In this special live Republican National Convention edition of "Six Minutes with Mike Whitely" Lenny and Larry Lumberjack will present their campaign platform directly to the live audience at Cinema Classics, and Mike will invite the audience to ask questions of the candidates. "And unlike the actual candidates, you can ask them anything you want, and they'll give you an honest answer," promises Matt Dominianni, animator and voice of Lenny Lumberjack. This event is part of the Imagine Festival of Arts, Issues & Ideas, a citywide cultural festival, Aug 28 - Sept 2, designed to inspire, instigate and support civic engagement through the arts. www.imagine04.org Where: Cinema Classics,
